Sheesham wood is also known as Indian Rosewood. The official name of sheesham wood is Dalbergia Sissoo. The wood comes from India and Pakistan. The density, hardness and color intensity are slightly lower than other rosewoods. Despite this, the wood is highly regarded in India and is considered to be very valuable wood.
North Indian Rosewood (Sheesham) is a popular handle wood thanks to its combination of strength, stability, and a warm, attractive grain. The heartwood ranges from honey brown to deep brown with natural contrasting streaks, and it finishes smooth and glossy after sanding and polishing.
