Kakuri Ryuzo RZ75111 165mm, single sided blade 165mm, with wooden saya

Nata (pruning knife, machete) for pruning branches and leaves and cleaving wood and trunks. Made by the well-known Japanese Kakuri factory, which is also well known for its very good wood saws. Due to the razor-sharp blade of Japanese carbon steel of a very high hardness and high weight, this knife works better than a pruning saw or a light machete or pruning knife.

This blade can also be used to split small logs, use a wooden mallet (never a metal mallet) and use an underlying (larger) chopping block to prevent the blade from slipping on a hard surface.

This knife is sharpened on one side.

This knife comes with wooden sheath with artificial leather cover and belt loop. Ideal for gardeners and gardeners and also suitable for woodworking and furniture makers.

  • Blade length: 165 mm
  • Total length: 360 mm
  • Weight: xxx
  • Handle: Japanese white Oak.
  • Steel type: Japanese SUS-J carbon steel (60 HRc), Sanmai forged with an outer layer of softer iron.
  • This knife is not rust resistant.

The Nata Tool was inspired by an unassuming, multipurpose cleaver used in Japan for hundreds of years for pruning, trimming, splitting small pieces of wood, and other garden and forestry projects. Historically, the blade was sharpened only on the right side, so it could be used to prune branches at the stem or trunk of the tree. The simplicity and intentionality of the original design celebrates a long-lasting tradition of creating utilitarian tools that get the job done. No frills, no fuss.
