Traditional octagonal Coromandel Ebony handle (size L)
SKU: Hand_EB-LTraditional octagonal Coromandel Ebony handle,
Handcrafted handle made of Coromandel Ebony.
- Ebony is also used in luxury products such as pens, guitars, chess pieces, etc.
- A hard, dark wood from Southeast Asia.
- Coromandel resembles West African ebony and is related to it. The main difference, however, is that ebony is almost uniformly black, while Coromandel always has beautiful chocolate-brown streaks.
- The wood is easy to work and has a very smooth finish. The best result is achieved by waxing it. It is very hard, has a short grain, and hardly splinters.
- Coromandel is used for ornaments, luxurious moldings (often seen in old buildings), figurines, and also for mosaic pieces in floors.
