Graeskar x Kabocha Cutting Board (Handmade), End-Grain Oak Wood
SKU: Type 5Graeskar x Kabocha End-Grain Cutting Board
The Graeskar x Kabocha cutting board brings together Scandinavian craftsmanship and Japanese refinement in one distinctive kitchen piece. These end-grain cutting boards are handmade in Denmark from carefully selected European oak.
The name subtly connects two worlds: Graeskar, inspired by the Danish word for pumpkin, and Kabocha, the Japanese name for the much-loved Japanese pumpkin. Together, they form a fitting name for a product centred around simplicity, natural materials and high-quality craftsmanship.
End-grain wood is known for its durability and knife-friendly properties. Because the wood fibres are positioned vertically, the knife cuts between the fibres rather than straight across them. This helps the surface remain attractive for longer and reduces wear on your knives. As a result, the board is not only beautiful to look at, but also highly suitable for everyday use in the kitchen.
The Japanese influence can be seen in its calm appearance, attention to detail and balance between functionality and beauty. As with traditional Japanese kitchen tools, the focus is on quality, simplicity and respect for the material. This is not a mass-produced item, but a handmade piece of craftsmanship that will only become more beautiful with age.
Use the Graeskar x Kabocha cutting board for preparing vegetables, meat, fish or bread, or place it on the table as a stylish serving board.
