Nigara SG2 Folding Knife Carbon Fiber Handle
This now very scarce version of this famous Nigara pocket knife has a core of Japanese SG2 steel (stainless) with a hammered (Tsuchime) stainless steel cladding. This double-sided sharpened knife is completely hand-forged and crafted by the master blacksmith at Nigara knives. The blade is sturdy and manually sharpened and is very easy to sharpen yourself.
About Nigara Hamono
Nigara Hamono is a knifemaking operation based in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, with a heritage that stretches back over 350 years. While their roots lie in traditional swordsmithing, today the company also manufactures industrial steel products, including large structural beams for construction. Though knifemaking represents a smaller part of their overall business, it’s a meaningful one—especially under the direction of Go Yoshizawa, a 35-year-old blacksmith and son of the current company president. Yoshizawa-san has embraced the family’s blacksmithing legacy, crafting distinctive tsuchime-finished knives and hand-folded Damascus pieces that highlight both tradition and innovation.
