Tadokoro Edosaki

Single-edged blade with a core of special Yasuki White #2 (Shirogami) steel with a layer of non-stainless steel. This knife is hand-forged by one of the master smiths in Sakai, and the blade is sharpened and finished by Makoto Tadokoro. The blade is sturdy and hand-sharpened, with no thickening, making it very easy to sharpen. The octagonal handle features a beautiful hand-applied Urushi lacquer. An Edosaki is a Japanese eel knife. The kissaki (point) of the blade is angled, and the handle is short and beveled, making it comfortable to hold.

  • Blade length: 195 mm

  • Handle: Straight octagonal handle with traditional Japanese Urushi lacquer in red and blue.

Special features: Tadokoro knives are available in very limited editions. The knives are always produced in small batches. Tadokoro knives are among the finest in the world and are true collector's items.

Like all Japanese knives, Tadokoro knives are not dishwasher safe and are prone to oxidation. Cleaning and drying them after each use, and applying oil (Camellia oil) is the best treatment for these exclusive products.
