Tadokoro Kiritsuke Gyuto

Single-edged blade with a core of special Aogami #2 steel with a layer of non-stainless steel. This knife is hand-forged by one of the master smiths in Sakai, and the blade is sharpened and finished by Makoto Tadokoro. The blade is sturdy and hand-sharpened and has no thickening, making it very easy to sharpen. The handle is oval and features a beautiful hand-applied Urushi lacquer. A Kiritsuke-gyuto is, just like a regular gyuto, suitable for all tasks. The knife is designed for cutting fish, meat, and vegetables and is the Japanese equivalent of European chef's knives.

Like all Japanese knives, Konosuke knives are not dishwasher-safe and are susceptible to oxidation. Cleaning, drying, and oiling (camellia oil) after each use is the best way to care for these exclusive products.
