All over the world Tokifusa Iizuka is known as one of the, if not the best, living forgers in Japan. Iizuka san and his 2 sons, Masayuki and Yoshihide Iizuka, produce Shigefusa knives in a workshop at the back of the rural house of the Iizuka family in Sanjo, Japan. There are no electrically driven tools, no hydraulic hammers and no signs of grinding machines. All knives are made by hand from rough unformed iron. All steps are carried out by the three masters themselves, which is very special in Japan.

  5. Polishing

The knives of Shigefusa are produced by only 3 people and therefore they're very limited.
