Konosuke HD-2 Wa-Gyuto, Ebony octagonal handle,

Double-sided sharpened blade made of semi-stainless Japanese HD-2 steel (comparable in hardness to Shirogami # 2 steel). The blade is sturdy and manually sharpened and has no thickening, which makes sharpening very easy. The handle is traditionally octagonal and is suitable for both left and right handed use. The handle is made of very exclusive dark brown African Ebony and features a light (almost translucent) buffalo horn bolster.

  • Blade length: 240 mm
  • Total length: 395 mm
  • Blade height: 49 mm
  • Weight: 180 gram
  • Steel type: Japanese HD-2 steel (semi-stainless)
  • Hardness: 61-62 (Rockwell C)
  • Handle: Octagonal handle made of dark brown African Ebony and fitted with light and translucent buffalo horn bolster. The heat treatment of the husk makes it look like there are small cracks in the buffalo horn. However, this is a completely natural result and in this case stands out because the bolster is very translucent.
  • Including handmade Magnolia wood saya
