Mahogany, - straight grain - XL
Mahogany block: Swietenia mahagoni (Meliaceae family).
This is a beautiful stable wood, with which furniture can be made that cannot be made in any other type of wood (Chippendale's favorite wood type and its followers). It is also widely used in boat building. It is also used for certain musical instruments, especially for the sound box of guitars.
With this wood it is possible to manufacture your own handle as desired. This block contains enough wood for 2 traditional Japanese handles.

Wood description
Durability of the heartwood is fairly high, the sapwood is not durable. Swietenia mahogany is red / orange in color with a fine grain with darker markings. This is the old `original` mahogany from which the more expensive furniture was made.
