Shinsakuto compact diamond sharpening rod # 800, round for grinding serrations - 7.5 cm -
Diamond sharpening rod,
This small and very handy semicircular solid steel bar is provided with a layer of diamond powder, which means that knives can be set particularly quickly. These sharpening bars are somewhat coarser than ceramic sharpening bars and it is therefore not advisable to use this bar daily.
The sharpening rod can be put in the handle by unscrewing the collar. It is therefore very compact and easy to use. We use this sharpening rod to sharpen cartels in bread knives manually. Also very suitable as a regular sharpening rod for short knives such as pocket knives or hunting and fishing knives.
PLEASE NOTE, regular sharpening steels are not suitable for Japanese knives, the steel is softer than the steel in Japanese knives, which means that sharpening is not useful. Only ceramic and diamond sharpening bars are suitable for hard steel in Japanese knives.

- Total length: 225 mm (unfolded), 140 mm (folded)

Knives that are really blunt or damaged cannot be sharpened with this sharpening rod since this rod is too fine for that. Preferably use a Japanese sharpening stone (water stone) for this.
