This version has a height of 32 mm, if you want to have your blade completely covered we recommend to choose a high variant. The length of the saya is exactly 9.5 cm, if you have a petty between 8.5 and 9.5 cm and you want the saya against the handle then this saya may be too short. You can better choose the 15 cm variant.
The black plastic covers are made of hard plastic and have a soft protective layer on the inside so that your knives can not be damaged.
