Fujiwara san Nashiji Nakiri,

Hand-beaten blade of stainless steel with the core of extremely hard Japanese Shirogami # 1 White steel. This knife is completely hand forged by Teruyasu Fujiwara and is unique in its kind, the blade has a particularly matte appearance. The blade is thin and manually sharpened and has no thickening, which makes grinding very easy. A Nakiri is a double-sided cut vegetable knife. The knife is designed to be able to emboss properly (chopping movement in which the knife is completely released from the cutting board). The knife is not intended as a hatchet and is susceptible to damage by cutting hard products due to the thin cut. Cutting meat and fish that can still contain cartilage, bone or bones is therefore not recommended.

The handle is made from traditional Honoki wood (Japanese Magnolia wood). A special feature is that the handle stays rough when wet. The handle is D-shaped and is therefore only suitable for right-handed use.

The Fujiwara family is an old and famous Samurai family, 140 years ago the family started making swords and knives. Fujiwara Teruyasu san is the 4th generation and is known worldwide for its excellent knives and is considered to be one of the best knife makers in Japan and beyond.
