Corby Style Bolts made of rust-resistant steel

for attaching a handle / shell part to the blade.

  • Length of threaded part: 12.60 mm
  • Diameter (measured on shoulder): 3.95 mm
  • Diameter (measured on the shaft): 2.95 mm
  • Use these Corby bolts to connect handles to an angel of a knife.

For a Full tang: You drill a hole in the stalk in the size of the shaft. Then drill holes, partially through the handle material, into the diameter of the shoulder.

For a hidden pliers: Mount your handle dry (without glue) on the hidden pliers so that it does not move. (with a screw clamp or similar). Drill a hole through both shell parts and the pliers in one pass. Then drill a shallow hole in the shell part with the diameter of the shoulder. Screw the two parts together and attach the dishes to the tongs. The ends of the bolts are provided with a slot so that you can use a screwdriver at both ends to secure the bolt. If it is tight, sharpen the excess bolt material so that a nice pin is visible. You can also sharpen the shaft and / or wire to make them shorter. The shoulder and shaft are almost certainly longer than the thickest blade / tongs combination.

NOTE: these are sold in a few bolts. You have to order 1 of these for each pengat.

Use these Corby style bolts to connect handles to a knife tang.

For a full tang knife:
You drill a hole in the tang the size of the shaft. Then you drill holes part way through the handle material the diameter of the shoulder.

For a hidden tang knife:
Dry mount your handle to the hidden tang so it doesn't move. Drill a hole through both handle and tang in one pass. Then drill the handle material partially to depth the diameter of the shoulder.
Screw the two parts together fastening the scales to the tang. The ends of the bolts are slotted so you can use a screw driver on both ends to tighten the bolt. When you have it tight, you grind off the excess bolt material leaving a nice pin showing. You can also grind the shaft and/or threads to shorten them up. The shoulder and shaft are almost certainly longer than the thickest handle/tang combination.

NOTE: These are sold in single bolts. You will need to order 1 of these for each pin hole.

You are ordering by the single bolt.
